I have read this on Instagram the other day and it really resonated with me:
One day, I will realise that I have no need to explain myself nor my actions to anybody and that’s when I will know real peace.
Gosh I want to get to this place sooner rather then later. It’s much easier to justify everything you do that only affects you, but when it comes to kids, boy there’s a few opinions out there.
”I really hate myself for telling strangers that you are shy when you don’t immediately answer their questions. You don’t have to talk to anyone if you don’t want to. The world needs quiet people too and you have a lifetime of smalltalk and politeness ahead of you. Or maybe not and you will be happier for it. But please smack me on the head the next time you hear me making an excuse for you to someone who is insisting on a high five. Your friends know you and that’s enough. All those extroverts can be really tiring too.”
